I have decided to do the thirty days of My Chemical Romance meme, just because.
Day 1: Your favorite My Chemical Romance song.
Well, let's see. I had heard 'Famous Last Words' exactly once -- a live acoustic video of Gerard and Ray that Claire showed me, if my memory's right -- when I knew I had to get an 'awake and unafraid' tattoo. It was my first lyrics tattoo. So that's a potential answer.
The 'sharpest' part of my sharpest_rose username, which I use a variation of at most social networking sites, is from 'Give 'Em Hell, Kid'. 'Sharpest' was also the title of a thing I wrote, demonstrating that I probably have some sort of connection with the song. So that's another potential answer.
Speaking of stuff I've written, I think it's clear that 'House of Wolves' has had no creative impact on me whatsoever.
But as to my favourite-favourite-favourite? I genuinely do not know. 'Mama' is one of the most interesting songs I've ever heard, and 'I Never Told You What I Do For A Living' has a cool juxtaposition of almost rabid vocals and sweeping music. Facing my grandfather's funeral was easier because I listened to 'Helena' on my earphones before I got up to face that day.
This is all me avoiding an answer, though. So, um. I think 'Give 'Em Hell, Kid', for the snarl of the line 'Don't I look pretty walkin' down the street in the best damn dress I own'. Yes, MCR. Yes you do.
